In the vibrant city of Zagreb, Croatia, we recently embarked on an unforgettable journey that left us both humbled and inspired. The occasion was none other than Reboot Infogamer 2023, powered by A1. This event marked the showcase of our inaugural PC title, Copperfields, in the Indie Zone. Little did we know that this experience would surpass all our expectations and prove to be an additional motivation for our indie development journey.
## The Indie Zone Experience
Entering the Indie Zone, we were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of gamers, all eager to dive into the world of Copperfields. Hundreds of people tested our game, and their feedback became an invaluable asset. It provided us with insights into the feel of the game, its art, and the depth of its story. Moreover, we received constructive feedback on level design and identified areas for improvement in our upcoming Demo, which is just around the corner.
## Fueling Motivation
After four months of tireless development, the experience at Reboot Infogamer 2023 was a much-needed shot of motivation. The positive feedback from playtests served as validation for our hard work. Knowing that players appreciated the essence of our game was incredibly encouraging. It reminded us why we embarked on this indie game development journey in the first place.

Nedavno smo se upustili u nezaboravnu avanturu u Zagrebu, Hrvatska, povodom eventa Reboot Infogamer 2023. Ovaj događaj obeležio je predstavljanje naše prve PC igre, Copperfields, u njihovoj Indie Zoni. Nismo ni slutili da će ovo iskustvo nadmašiti sva naša očekivanja i pokazati se kao prekretnica u našem razvoju kao indie developera.
## Iskustvo u Indie Zoni
Ulazeći u Indie Zonu, dočekala nas je entuzijastična grupa gejmera, svi željni da se zarone u svijet Copperfieldsa. Stotine ljudi testiralo je našu igru, a njihov feedback je neprocjenjiv. Pozitivni komentari su bili vezani za viziju igre, osećaj tokom igre, dizajn i vizuelno iskustvo ali samu priču (backstory). Osim toga, dobili smo konstruktivne povratne informacije o dizajnu nivoa i identifikovali oblasti za poboljšanje našeg Demo-a, koji uskoro predstavljamo široj javnosti.
## Dodatna Motivacija
Nakon četiri mjeseca neumornog rada, iskustvo na Reboot Infogamer 2023 je rezultiralo velikom dozom dodatne motivacije za nas tim. Pozitivne povratne informacije iz playtestova služile su kao validacija našeg napornog rada ali i same ideje za igru. Sama činjenica da igrači cijene suštinu naše igre je neverovatno ohrabrujuća za nas. Podsjetilo nas je zašto smo uopšte krenuli na ovaj put razvoja indie igara.

## Nominacija za Najbolju Indie Igru 2023
Jedan od vrhunaca našeg iskustva na Reboot Infogamer 2023 bio je dobijanje nominacije za nagradu "Najbolja Indie Igra 2023". Ovo priznanje došlo je od sudija koji su široko poštovani eksperti u industriji video igara. Ovo nije bilo samo tapšanje po ramenu, već realna validacija iz industrije da sa Copperfieldsom idemo ka nečemu posebnom. Duboko smo počašćeni što smo nominovani, i to dalje podstiče našu odlučnost za rad na ovoj igri.
## Naša Vizija
U srcu našeg razvojnog puta leži vizija - stvaranje igre koja ostavlja trajan utisak. Cilj nam je da stvorimo iskustvo koje, kad je igrate, osetite nešto jedinstveno i nezaboravno. Copperfields je samo početna tačka u tom dugoročnom putu.

Reboot Infogamer 2023 je bio događaj koji ne samo da je prevazišao naša očekivanja, već nas je i motivisao da idemo korak dalje. Sa Demo izdanjem na horizontu i nominacijom za Najbolju Indie Igru 2023 kao dokaz našeg napretka, sada smo posvećeniji nego ikad da od Copperfieldsa napravimo igru koju ćete pamtiti. TeamFive: Prva PC igrica 3Hills-a dostupna na Stream-u

3Hills’ first PC Game: TeamFive Now Live on Steam

On March 3rd, 3Hills gaming studio organized its first Montenegro Game Jam in Podgorica! Ten teams accepted the challenge to create video games in just 48 hours, with the theme **"8 Seconds"**. Although the competition was fierce and the topic abstract, the event attracted participants of various ages, showing significant interest in game development in Montenegro.

The first place took a team of high school students, **"TFG code"**, who created a game called **"Times up."** They combined their humor and skills to create a unique game and make fun of today's society. The game is set in an underground world. It follows the story of George, whose uncle pulled his connections to arrange for him a job as a Grim Reaper.

Upon starting his new role, George gets a black robe, a scythe, and a simple task - to take human souls. However, the management has a strict no-tolerance policy for favoritism. George must complete the job in 8 seconds to prove himself worthy of the job. The "Times Up" game demands speed and unwavering focus from the player, making it incredibly challenging and comical. Whenever a player fails, the management sends a notification stating that George has been fired with a note that reads, *"Remember George, you're supposed to kill them!"*

*"All participants showed incredible creativity and readiness to fulfill the challenge."* said Andrija Dragojević, project manager of 3Hills, adding, *"It is highly challenging to create a fully operational game in just 48 hours! Nevertheless, I am proud of all the participants who participated in our Game Jam and showcased their abilities!"*

While the Game Jam champions were dealing with life after death, the **Alicorn** team was inspired by a real social problem that they showcased humorously. **"Quantum Ovaries"** game shows the brilliant scientist Ozana who is about to turn 30 and has only 8 seconds to bear a child to fulfill her mother's wish. The heroine finds a solution by extending her 8-second biological clock using her invented quantum magic. This funny game won the hearts of many, so the judges had the severe challenge of choosing the winner.

The games were evaluated based on several criteria, such as the fundamental concept, originality, innovation, and overall gameplay experience. "TFG code" undoubtedly stood out in all these aspects!

Even though our first and second-place winners took the spotlight, we need to make a few more honorable mentions:  **"Catastrophe"** team made an impression with their game **"Next Target in T-8 Seconds,"** while the **"D++"** team presented their game **"Over My Dead Body,"** and you can probably guess what that one is about!

3Hills gaming studio je 3. marta ogranizovao svoj prvi Montenegro Game Jam u Podgorici! Deset timova je prihvatilo izazov da kreiraju video igre u samo 48 sati, na temu **"8 sekundi”**. Iako je takmičenje samo po sebi bilo izazovno, a tema apstraktna, ovaj događaj je privukao učesnike različitih uzrasta, pokazujući da postoji značajno interesovanje za razvoj igara na crnogorskom području.

Prvo mjesto je ni manje ni više osvojio tim srednjoškolaca **“TFG code”** koji napravio igru pod nazivom **“Times up”**. Oni su na šaljiv način spojili nespojivo - život nakon smrti i stigmu koja prati današnje društvo. Radnja se dešava u podzemnom svijetu, u kom postoji glavni junak Džordž kojem ujak “završava” posao preko veze, i “ubacuje” ga na poziciju Smrti.

Džordž je dobio svoju crnu odoru, kosu i prost zadatak - da uzima ljudske duše. Međutim, menadžment ne toleriše protekciju, pa kako bi se dokazao na probnom radu, zahtijevaju od Džordža da posao završi u 8 sekundi! “Times up” igrica od igrača zahtijeva brzinu i punu pažnju, čineći je izuzetno teškom ali i komičnom. Svaki put kada igrač izgubi, menadžment šalje poruku obavještenja da je Džordž dobio otkaz ili napomenu *“Zapamti Džordž, trebalo je da ih ubiješ”*!

*"Na Montenegro Game Jam-u smo svjedočili nevjerovatnoj kreativnosti i spremnosti koja je karakterisala sve učesnike.”* kazao je Andrija Dragojević, projektni menadžer 3Hills-a, pa zatim dodao  *“U tako kratkom roku od 48h napraviti igru koja funkcioniše je nevjerovatan poduhvat, zbog čega tvrdim da svako ko je učestvovao je na neki način pobijedio!"*

Dok su se prvaci bavili životom posle smrti, tim **Alicorn** je za inspiraciju uzeo stvarni problem društva koji je kroz igricu na šaljiv način htio da približi publici. **"Quantum Ovaries"** igrica prikazuje brilijantnu naučnicu Ozanu koja uskoro puni 30 godina, a i ima samo 8 sekundi da rodi dijete kako njena majka ne bi bila razočarana. Junakinja nalazi rješenje u produžavanju svojih 8 sekundi biološkog sata pomoću kvantne magije koju je osmislila. Ova šaljiva igra osvojila je srca mnogih, pa su i same sudije imale ozbiljan izazov u odabiru pobjednika. 

Naravno, igre su bile ocjenjivanje po osnovnoj ideji, originalnosti, inovativnosti kao i po tome koliko je prijatno bilo igrati igricu, a “TFG code” je tu svakako briljirao.

Pored prvog i drugog mjesta, na takmičenju su se istakli i drugi timovi sa kreativnim rješenjima, uključujući **"Katastrofa"** tim sa igrom **"Next Target in T-8 seconds"** i **"D++"** tim sa igrom **"Over my dead body",** a vi sami pretpostavite o čemu je tu riječ!

Montenegro Game Jam: 3Hills Unites the Gaming Community!

The 3Hills gaming studio proudly presents the Montenegro Game Jam in Podgorica on March 3rd. This exciting event gives contestants a chance to showcase their skills and creativity as they compete to develop a winning game within a challenging 48-hour time frame.

The Montenegro Game Jam is designed to provide a level playing field for all participants, regardless of their background or experience. During the event, attendees can use pre-existing code and any legally accessible art and audio assets to bring their game ideas to life. While having programming, development, and artistic skills may give participants an edge, the event is open to all, including self-taught talents. That being said, participants can use a platform of their choice as long as the final product can be uploaded as a functioning file that doesn't require any additional hardware or software.

In the spirit of fairness, the theme of the Game Jam will be disclosed at the start of the competition. If you're unfamiliar with the concept of a Game Jam, you can find inspiration by checking out the performance of the 3Hills team in their [first competition](https://3hills.io/news/46).

"*I am proud to see how far we have come*" stated Andrija Dragojević, the project manager of 3Hills. He added, "*It's remarkable that our team, who only took part in their first Game Jam competition last September, managed to secure first place. And now, just a few months later, 3Hills is hosting its own Game Jam competition in Podgorica.*"

Following the standard practices of Game Jams, the judges will evaluate the entries and determine the winning games based on three main factors:

1. **Playability**: The ease and fun of playing the game
2. **Creativity**: The level of interest, uniqueness, and innovation in the underlying concept
3. **Presentation**: Based on the presentation of the concept and the extent of its development

The first-place winner at the Montenegro Game Jam will receive a prize of €500, with the runner-up team taking home €200.

Igra se razvija tokom Game Jam-a, međutim, učesnici mogu koristiti i već postojeći kod i bilo koji art i audio sredstva na koja imaju zakonsko pravo. Iako djeluje da su programeri, developeri i game artisti u blagoj prednosti, 3Hills pruža priliku i samoukim talentima da se oprobaju u ovom izazovu. Pa su za kreiranje igara dozvoljene sve platforme - pod uslovom da učesnici mogu da otpreme datoteku koja radi i ne zahtijeva nikakav dodatni hardver ili softver.

1. **Kvalitet** - Koliko je lako i zabavno igrati igru
2. **Kreativnost** – Koliko je osnovna ideja zanimljiva, originalna i inovativna
3. **Prezentacija** - Na osnovu prezentovanja same ideje i daljih koraka razvoja 

Pobjednik/ci ovog takmičenja odnose nagradu u vrijednosti od 500€, dok ekipa na drugom mjestu odlazi sa 200€.

3Hills Montenegro Game Jam: 48 Hour Challenge

The 3Hills team has no rest! After their successful [First Game Jam](https://3hills.io/news/46), they won first place once again! This time in Women In Games International (WIGI) Android Game Pitch Competition.

During the competition, participants received mentorship and guidance on their game, deck, and presentation before pitching to a panel of industry experts and judges from Google AdSense Unity for Games, GDBAY, and Xsolla. 

“*When you combine teamwork, fun, and guidance, you get a $5,000 first-place price*!” said Janković, CEO of 3Hills. Then added, “*We are so glad that we were a part of the WIGI competition and had a chance to meet these amazing women who are showing the world that gaming is indeed an industry for diverse creatives regardless of gender.*”
 
For their pitch, they chose [Bally Jump](https://3hills.io/bally-jump) - a dynamic mobile game with vaporwave aesthetics, visually stimulating art style, soothing music, and competitive elements. 

The gameplay is easy - a player holds and drags the ball to make it jump from tile to tile. The catch is hopping on the tiles the same color as the ball. The challenging part is not to miss the tiles but avoid the lasers.

This mobile game is simple yet challenging, with breathtaking 3D visuals and effects. The player controls the ball and jumps over tiles; even though it’s one-touch control and easy-to-play game, it is hard to reach the top rank. **Gaming Night** was held in Podgorica on October 4th as a part of the ICT Week, which was organized by the Capital of Montenegro, and ICT Cortex. The evening was eventful. Gamers were competing in tournaments, children were playing diverse games, and youth had the opportunity to hear experts talk about the gaming industry and future job openings. Besides the Capital of Montenegro and ICT Cortex, Gaming Night was also organized by 3Hills, while sponsors Telekom, Vigoris, G - Tech, Datika, Big Fashion, and Red Bull ensured the competitive price pool.

By organizing this event, 3Hills gaming studio aimed to explain all the benefits of the gaming industry in Montenegro. In addition, they showed how exciting and fun jobs can be and how gamers can find their own career path in this industry.

3Hills project manager Andrija Dragojević was the one who took the initiative in organizing this Gaming Night. With a huge smile, he said that Gaming Night exceeded all expectations and it was the night worth remembering. 

*"I knew from the start that this event would be unique! With their competitive enthusiasm and cheering friends, gamers made the event memorable. Even though we had only one week for advertising, gamers had their own way of communicating the event. This created not only a competitive event but a networking opportunity."*  Dragojević said.

There were five tournaments, of which two were organized for the first time in Montenegro, namely **"Fall Guys"** and **"Rocket League”**. The main event of Gaming Night was a popular tournament, a favorite among players, **"3Hills esports tournament - League Of Legends".**

The CEO of 3Hills Gaming studio, Jelena Janković, said this event created space for gamers to socialize offline and put their skills to the test by competing for different prizes. 

*"Diverse, interesting content and a great prize pool attracted the audience to join this event. In addition to those who participated in the tournaments, some were observers and fans cheering on their friends. Interestingly, no prior knowledge was required for certain tournaments; anyone could play,"* said Janković.

In addition to fun tournaments, there was room for educational content. Representatives of Montenegrin gaming studios - **Jakša Ivančević** (3Hills), **Milutin Pavićević** (Alicorn), and **Aleksandar Dlabač** (Codelab) participated in a panel discussion** "Gaming: from hobby to employment"**. The audience had the opportunity to discover everything that has to do with the gaming industry in Montenegro. This discussion aimed to raise young people's awareness about occupations that actually spring from their main hobby.

Next, the executive director of "Miracle Dojo" studio, **Uroš Milajković**, inspired young gamers by sharing his career path. He explained how he started and what it takes to lead a team of creatives and have a successful gaming studio.

Basketball fans could also enjoy the **"NBA 2K22"** tournament.

The Montenegrin TikTok influencer **Vuk Mihailović** (better known as **Rai Wolf**),  had a role as a 'final boss' at the Influencer challenge. Also, he shared the life story of his beginning and how he went from being a gamer to an influencer. 

During this event, the participants collected points at the stands, which ultimately depended on the player's position, which led to the last match - the **Influencer Challenge**. The top ten people with the highest scores had the opportunity to challenge **Vuk Mihailović** and win valuable prizes.

U okviru ICT Week-a, koji su organizovali Glavni grad i ICT Cortex, u Podgorici je 04. oktobra organizovan **Gaming Night**. Veče igara, turnira i edukativnog programa za mlade u vezi budućnosti gejming industrije, ali i zaposlenja u ovoj branši. Ovaj događaj je okupio sve ljubitelje video igara, i prenio online druženje uživo, u samom centru Big Fashion-a. Događaj je uz Glavni grad i ICT Cortex organizovao i Gaming Studio 3Hills, a sponzori su bili Telekom, Vigoris, G - Tech, Datika, Big Fashion i Red Bull.

Događaj je svojim izuzetno bogatim, zanimljivim sadržajem, ali i sjajnim nagradama privukao brojne posjetioce. 3Hills je imao za cilj da putem ovog događaja, između ostalog, pokaže da je gejming industrija ozbiljna scena koja otvara nova radna mjesta, nudi prostor za investiranje, ali i ozbiljnu priču u koju je crnogorsko tržište spremno da uplovi.

Projektni menadžer 3Hills-a **Andrija Dragojević**, koji je bio zaslužan za organizaciju ovog fantastičnog događaja, kazao je da je Gaming Night nadmašio sva očekivanja, pa je pozitivnu atmosferu prenio u par rečenica.

*“Kada sam vidio oduševljenje mladih gejmera, a i njihovih prijatelja koji to nijesu kako se druže i navijaju, znao sam da je ovaj događaj prava stvar. S obzirom na to da smo imali samo nedjelju dana promocije, bio sam u strahu da vijest o Gaming Night-u neće doći do velikog broja ljudi. Međutim, gejmeri me uvijek oduševe i iznova dokažu svoju umreženost i posvećenost ovoj industriji. ”*, kazao je Dragojević.

Realizovano je bilo pet turnira, od kojih su dva po prvi put bili organizovani u Crnoj Gori i to **„Fall Guys“** i **„Rocket League“**. Centralni događaj Gaming Night-a je bio turnir, omiljen među igračima, **“3Hills esport turnir - League Of Legends”**.

Izvršna direktorka 3Hills Gaming studija Jelena Janković, kazala je da je ovaj događaj učinio i da zaljubljenici u gejming industriju dobiju svoje vrijeme i prostor za druženje.

*“Bogat, zanimljiv sadržaj, kao i sjajne nagrade je ono što je publiku privuklo da se priključi ovom događaju. Pored onih koji su učestvovali u turnirima, bilo je i ljudi koji su bili posmatrači i navijači. Zanimljiva stvar je i ta da za pojedine turnire nije bilo potrebno predznanje, svako je mogao igrati.”*, rekla je Janković.

Pored zabavnih turnira, ostavljen je prostor i za edukativan sadržaj. U okviru panel diskusije na temu **“Gaming: od hobija do zaposlenja”** na kojem su učestvovali predstavnici crnogorskih gaming studija - **Jakša Ivančević** (3Hills), **Milutin Pavićević** (Alicorn) i **Aleksandar Dlabač** (Codelab), publika je bila u prilici da sazna sve što ima veze sa gaming industrijom u Crnoj Gori. Cilj ove diskusije bio je da se podigne svijest mladima o zanimanjima koja zapravo niču iz njihovog glavnog hobija.

Takođe, publika je od izvršnog direktora „Miracle Dojo“ studija **Uroša Milajkovića** imala priliku da se upozna sa životnom rutinom osnivača kompanije, ali i da uvidi koliko je zapravo potrebno ljubavi i upornosti da bi se postigao uspjeh u gejmingu.

Na Gaming Night-u su i ljubitelji košarke mogli da uživaju u turniru **“NBA 2K22”**. 

Organizovano je i druženje sa game infulenserom i TikTokerom, **Vukom Mihailovićem** (poznatiji kao **Rai Wolf**), koji je publici približio uticaj gaminga na njegovo odrastanje i koliko je zapravo uticao i na njegovu odluku da postane influenser.

Učesnici su u toku igranja prikupljali poene na štandovima, od kojih je na kraju zavisila pozicija igrača, što je vodilo do posljednjeg turnira – **Influencer Challenge**. Deset osoba sa najboljim rezultatom imali su priliku da u finalu izazovu **Vuka Mihailovića**, a na kraju i da osvoje vrijedne nagrade.
